Travel through the women’s history of Bochum! The walking tour, hosted by Linda Unger of ausZeiten feminist archives will not only lead you to interesting sights like Bergbau Museum, Pauluskirche and Kunstmuseum, but guide Linda Unger will introduce you to the lives of courageous women and the part they played in the history of the city and in women’s liberation. Learn about Ursula Schafmeister, the first female priest in Bochum, Nora Platiel, a jewish lawyer in exile, and many more.
In addition to the women’s walking tour, there will be a women’s map of Bochum available from spring 2017. The map is a cooperative effort of Frauenarchiv ausZeiten feminist archives and the city’s equal opportunities office. The women from the 20th and 19th centuries and from earlier periods introduced in the walking tour can now also be found on the women’s map.
